A runner on a suburban street at sunrise. The road behind her breaks apart into a mountain kingdom of towers and waterfalls, with two riders on the path below.

A kingdom in the mountains

The street stays where it is.
Everything else moves.

You are on the same road you always run. The story is the part that changes — it arrives in your ears, anchored to the ground you have covered and the pace you are holding.

How it works

Four steps.
Then you are outside.

A season is written in chapters and cut for the distance you pick. Choose both before you leave the house, then go and find out what happens.

  1. 01

    Pick a story

Six seasons are on the shelf, and they are not the same kind of story: a village murder mystery, two supernatural thrillers, a time-loop mystery, a voyage nobody explains and an elimination drama. Four are finished arcs; the other two say DEMO on their own card.

Every season states its own status before you start it.

  2. 02

    Choose your distance

Then say how far you are going. A season is authored as a set of cuts, one for each distance, so a 5K plays a tighter cut of the same chapter — never a thinner one. The story condenses; it is never stretched to fill the ground.

Every distance on the card has its own cut, written for that length.

  3. 03

    Run

Headphones in, phone away. Nothing has to be read, tapped or watched while you are moving: the app talks, and the screen is there if you want it rather than because you need it.

Your pace, distance and route are recorded the whole time.

  4. 04

    The story reacts

To your pace, and to the ground you have covered. Lines are anchored to real moments in the run — a kilometre done, an easing off, a push — so the next thing you hear arrives because of something you did.

That reaction is the whole of what interactive means here. An audiobook plays, and does not.

Four steps, and then it is just you, the road and whatever the story does next.

Running stories

Run into the plot.

An interactive season reacts to your pace and the ground you cover. Every one states on its own card how much of it a run of your length will play.

Five kinds of story: a village murder mystery, two supernatural thrillers, a time-loop mystery, a voyage nobody explains and an elimination drama.

Every distance a season offers has its own cut, written for that length. Pick 5K and you get a 5K story, not a longer one thinned out.

Audiobooks

A book, performed.
You set the pace.

A full performance rides with you: the story carries itself while you choose the route, the pace and the effort. Books and interactive seasons each carry their own word on the shelf, so you always know which one you are starting.

The recording, respected

You hear the book as it was performed.

The chapter plays exactly as it was recorded — the reading, whole. Everything of ours sits around it, and the coach for your splits stays off until you ask for it.

Your workout, your options

The chapter is fixed. The run is yours.

A season asks how far you are going; a book asks the opposite, so you say how you are covering the ground — walking, running or riding — and how hard. Before you start you see how long the chapter runs, about how far it will carry you, and where to turn around.

Your choice

Before every start

Choose your run

Every run is a different kind of run.

A murder mystery this morning, a coach on Thursday, something chasing you at the weekend. You decide what you are running into before you put the headphones in.

01

Story runs

Pick a season off the shelf and run inside it — chapters, voices and cues arriving while you move.

02

Zombie companion

Put something behind you. It closes when you ease off, and the only way to lose it is to run.

03

Coaches and pacers

Pick the voice that runs with you — a coach talking about your effort, or a pacer calling the gap.

04

Race-code entry

Type the race code and the app opens that race's companion, ready for the morning you line up.

05

Fuel and reminders

Set a fuelling nudge before you leave and hear it at the kilometre you asked for, not at the one you forgot.

06

Friends and activities

Run the same seasons as your friends, and cheer the runs they put up.

Race companions

Enter the code.
Choose the run.

Get the code from the organiser, type it in, and the race you entered arrives with its real course, its climbs and a voice to run it with.

One code

Type the code and the whole race is on your phone.

Read the course now, run it on the day, and press play when you are ready.

Routes and courses

A course is a place.
A race is a date.

One you can run any morning you like. The other happens once, on a day, with everyone else on the line beside you.

Course

Somewhere to run, with no date on it.

Race

An event, with a date and an entry.

Who can see a route

Private
Only you. Nobody else sees the route or where it starts.
Friends
People you have both accepted as friends can open the route and run it, with your name on it. They see where it starts, unless you set a privacy zone.
Public
Anyone signed in can find the route and run it. They see where it starts — often your home if you run from your door — unless you set a privacy zone, which hides both ends. Your name is hidden, but the route is not moved.

The same three choices for every route you own, whatever it was made from or wherever it came from.

Your units, everywhere

Set metric or imperial once and every distance follows it. Every figure arrives in the unit you think in.
